Sibling doula Support

When you move away from family, or just don’t know your neighbors that well, figuring out who you trust to take care of your older child(ren) can be stressful. Not only that, but introducing a new member of the family can be nerve-racking. Our sibling doulas are here to help ease your mind with the following:

  • Prenatal Playdate In order to get to know you and your family, your sibling doula will meet with you and your big sibling(s)-to-be up to two times prenatally. This ensures your older child(ren) are comfortable spending an extended period of time with their doula, whether that be in their home, or at the birthing place.

  • Continuous Support Your sibling doula will be there starting when you need, for as long as you need. You can count on big brother or sister being ready to welcome new baby into their family with a birthday card, a silly song, or some big sibling "advice" as they're ready to tackle their new role.

  • Follow-up To ensure that the transition is going well, your sibling doula will schedule a follow-up visit. During this visit they will share tips and tricks to help with the transition. This can be either for the parents or for the newly anointed big brother or sister.
